To orient the newly hired non-teaching personnel (NTP) of SDO Quezon on the Department of Education’s (DepEd) organizational structure, Division strategic directions, employee salary and benefits, as well as duties and responsibilities, the 2021 Division Induction Program for NTP was conducted on May 25-28, 2021.
Gregorio Co Jr., OIC-Assistant Schools Division Superintendent, acquainted the participants with DepEd’s mandate and organizational structure, banking on the provisions of Republic Act No. 9155, otherwise known as the Governance of Basic Education Act of 2001.
Herbert D. Perez, OIC-Assistant Schools Division Superintendent, discussed the Department’s vision, mission and core values, and connected them in the development and implementation of Schools Division Office (SDO) of Quezon’s strategic directions.
Gregorio T. Mueco, OIC-Assistant Schools Division Superintendent, shared a lecture on cultivating work ethics in public service, which goes beyond the technical requirements of the job.
On the other hand, Maria Dolores D. Atienza, Administrative Officer V, delivered her talk regarding the compensation and benefits of DepEd personnel as per existing guidelines, which include clothing allowance, mid-year and year-end bonuses, performance-based bonus (PBB), cash gift, and other incentives like step increment, leave privileges, and vacation service credits to name a few.
Sherelyn O. Pardilla, Administrative Officer IV, explained the General Provisions of DepEd Records Management Operations Manual of RA 9470 or An Act to Strengthen the System of Management and Administration of Archival Records, Establishing for the Purpose the National Archives of the Philippines, and for Other Purposes.
onathan R. Alim, Chief Social Insurance Officer of PhilHealth Lucena, discussed about the universal health program, as well as benefits for members.
Ma. Liberty Abanilla, Accountant of Government Insurance System (GSIS) Lucena, tackled subjects related to retirement and pension, types of loans, and maturity of policies.
Derrick N. De la Pena, Member Services Officer II of Home Mutual Development Fund (PAG-IBIG), shed light on processes to avail a housing loan, multi-purpose loan, voluntary contribution, and updates on provident benefits.
Finally, Dr. Elias Alicaya Jr., OIC- Schools Division Superintendent, led the inductees’ pledge of commitment.
In the records of the Human Resource and Development (HRD), through Dr. Regina Marino, Senior Education Program Specialist, participants included 110 NTP who were hired from January 2020 to March 2020.
