BATANGAS CITY — Coaches and technical officials of the SDO Quezon delegation joined the solidarity meeting for the Regional Athletic Association Meet (RAAM) on March 6, 2026, at the Batangas City Sports Coliseum.
The Quezon delegation was led by Division Sports Officer and MAPEH Education Program Supervisor Jay S. Alfaro and SNED Education Program Supervisor Joan Alejaida R. Mauhay.
Hosted by the School Division Office of Batangas City, the RAAM 2026 will officially run from March 7 to 14, 2026, carrying the theme “Beyond Sports: Nurturing Learners for a Stronger Nation.”
During the program, the Quezon delegation demonstrated unity through an energetic and snappy “pagsaludo” and “pasasalamat,” led by the parade and discipline committee.
In his message, Atty. Alberto T. Escobarte, Regional Director of DepEd Region IV-A CALABARZON, emphasized the importance of fairness, transparency, and collaboration to ensure the success of the meet. He also highlighted that the event serves as a platform for developing discipline, teamwork, and leadership among student-athletes.
Meanwhile, Hermogenes Panganiban, Schools Division Superintendent of Batangas City, welcomed the 25 participating divisions and affirmed the city’s readiness to host the regional sporting event.
Eduardo M. Zapanta, Chief Education Supervisor of the Education Support Services Division, also underscored the importance of unity among stakeholders to ensure a safe and well-organized meet.
Technical preparations were also discussed, including athlete and coach accreditation presented by Kelvin Matib and health and safety protocols emphasized by Mary Grace Javier and Rose Mark Capillo.
Breakout sessions were likewise conducted for coaches and technical officials to tackle sport-specific schedules, rules, and concerns.
Around 15,000 to 20,000 delegates composed of athletes, coaches, and officials are expected to participate in the regional meet, which also serves as the selection process for athletes who will represent CALABARZON in the upcoming in Palarong Pambansa 2026.
