In a significant event for the local education sector, the Municipality of Infanta hosted the 1st Quarter Division Management Committee (ManCom) Meeting for the 1st and 2nd Congressional Districts today, February 24, 2026 at the Northern Quezon Auditorium in Brgy. Comon which brought together 396 school principals and high-ranking division officials, led by Schools Division Superintendent (SDS) Dr. Rommel C. Bautista, CESO V. The summit served as a strategic platform to align programs, projects, and administrative policies aimed at elevating the quality of education for the first quarter of the year.
The program opened with a vibrant showcase of local talent. Attendees were treated to musical performances by the INHS Rondalla, followed by a rhythmic display from SPA Dance students, both supervised by their SPA teachers.
The formal proceedings began with the musical preliminaries performed by the SPA Vocals Students under the supervision of Mrs. Laida S. Sutabinto, followed with the recitation of the DepEd Quality Policy Statement, reinforcing the department’s mandate to provide inclusive and learner-centered education.
In her welcome remarks, Infanta District Public Schools District Supervisor, Mrs. Luzviminda T. Buerano emphasized resilience, unity, and shared responsibility as defining values of both the community and its education leaders. “Mas nagiging magaan ang gawain kapag sama-samang hinaharap ang mga hamon.” She underscored that effective leadership is collective in nature and that meaningful progress is achieved when challenges are addressed together. “Ang gawaing ito ay isang mahalagang pagkakataon upang magtagpo at magbahagi ng ideya para sa pagpaplano at pagpapalakas ng programa para sa kapakanan ng mag-aaral at buong SDO Quezon”.
The morning session also featured the traditional "Tagayan Kata, Ka-DepEd Quezon Ko," a cultural dance that highlighted the unity, shared purpose, and culture of education leaders in DepEd Quezon which highlights the the host district’s tradition.
The meeting was energized by Hon. Lord Arnel V. Ruanto, Municipal Mayor of Infanta, who used music to highlight the need for unity in education. He reminded everyone that raising a child takes a village and acknowledged the challenges faced by both teachers and learners, emphasizing, “The first step in solving the problem is recognizing the problem.”
Citing Ed Com’s concern that “87% of students are not grade-level ready, yet the promotion rate remains high,” challenging everyone to overcome this problem.
Mayor LA presented several LGU-led programs in support of education like the summer reading tutorial.
Schools Division Superintendent, Dr. Rommel C. Bautista, CESO V, delivered his inspirational message by reminding everyone that they themselves are products of education; thus, education must always be valued and prioritized.
He reminded everyone that leadership is not merely about authority, but about influence, example, and responsibility. “Ang pamumuno natin ngayon ang magiging direksyon ng ating paaralan, mag-aaral, at guro. Everything rises and falls in leadership.” Encouraging servant leadership, he urged school heads to continue serving with sapat at tapat na pamumuno for every learner in SDO Quezon.
