This January 12–16, 2026, DepEd personnel joined the National Cancer Consciousness Awareness Week, aligned with DepEd Order No. 12, s. 2025, to promote cancer awareness, prevention, and early detection in our learning centers and workplaces.
The celebration kicked off at the Library Hub after the Flag Raising Ceremony, featuring information sessions on cancer prevention and treatment. Nurse Lavinia R. Cueto led a discussion on cervical cancer, highlighting symptoms, prevention, diagnostics, and the Seven Healthy Habits as part of the Healthy is Life Campaign.
Adding a personal touch, EPS Mary Joyce S. Montana, a breast cancer survivor, shared her inspiring journey of resilience and hope, reminding everyone to prioritize their health.
A Zumba challenge lasting at least 15 minutes per office was encouraged to promote physical activity and support the observance. The Cash Section, Accounting Section, and Health Section actively initiated and participated in the challenge, demonstrating strong support for the activity and encouraging other offices to join in promoting a healthy and active workplace.
Together, we celebrate health, awareness, and life—because early detection and informed choices save lives!
