Amidst the glowing twilight at the Biñan Football Stadium, the Quezon Dolphins roared into the Opening Ceremony of the DepEd Region IV-A CALABARZON's Regional Athletic Association Meet (RAAM) on April 7. Under a sky illuminated by a spectacular fireworks display, the 2024 RAAM commenced its celebration of athletic excellence and camaraderie.
With 23 Schools Division Offices participating in this year's RAAM, the event's tagline "Beyond Sports" resonates deeply, symbolizing the athletes' commitment to surpassing limits and striving for greatness not only in the field but also in life. The Quezon Dolphins, in blue and gold, ablaze against the backdrop of the stadium, embodied the spirit of resilience and determination that defines the Atletang MATATAG.
The event was graced by the presence of key figures such as SDO Quezon's SDS Rommel Bautista, ASDS Venus Baldemedina, ASDS Joepi Falqueza, ASDS Roselyn Golfo, CID Chief Lorena Walangsumbat, SGOD Chief Beth De Villa, DSO Joan Alejaida Mauhay, and MAPEH EPS Jay Alfaro, who collectively ignited a flame of hope and inspiration. They were also joined by Quezon Governor Dra. Helen Tan in the person of Executive Asst. John Francis Luzano. They all work tirelessly to foster a culture of sportsmanship and excellence.
Leading the charge, Atty. Alberto Escobarte, DepEd Calabarzon's Regional Director, declared the games officially opened, signaling the commencement of the upcoming days filled with thrilling competitions, heartwarming victories, and unforgettable memories. The radiant energy of the ceremony was a testament to the passion and dedication of all those involved in making the 2024 RAAM a resounding success.
As the Sulo ng Pag-asa sets the flame of unity and determination ablaze, the athletes and participants from Region IV-A CALABARZON led by this year's hosts SDO Biñan, SDO Sta. Rosa, SDO San Pedro, and SDO Tanauan, stand together in solidarity, embodying the true essence of atletang MATATAG – strong and unwavering in the pursuit of their dreams.
