Schools Division of Quezon conduct an intensive In-house training for athletes on March 30 – April 4, 2024 at Quezon National High School in preparation for Regional Athletic Association Meet 2024.
Initiated by Dr. Joan Alejaida R. Mauhay, the training delved athletes into rigorous training sessions, drills, and tune-up games across various venues in Lucena City, including Pacific Mall, Iñigo’s Sports Complex, Punzalan Gymnasium, and the Alcala Sports Complex.
Upon arrival on the 30th of March, coaches, trainers, and members of the Technical Working Group, convened to discuss roles and responsibilities and other house rules. CID Chief Lorena S. Walangsumbat; Ma’am Asuncion Ilao, Education Program Supervisor and Sir Joseph Hinanay, Principal of the host school graced the meeting and expressed their support to the participants.
Each day commenced with a 5:30 a.m. morning routine through an assembly followed by a jog and drill at the Alcala Sports Complex, while evenings concluded with evaluation and debriefing sessions for coaches, Technical Directors, and TWGs to assess athletes’ progress, set reminders, raise concerns, and recognize commendable teams’ commendable traits and behavior.
Ensuring the well-being of the participants remained paramount throughout the training. Sir Jay S. Alfaro, MAPEH EPS, meticulously monitored the billeting quarters and athletes’ progress.
Assistant Schools Division Superintendent Joepi F. Falqueza, joined by Sir Joseph Hinanay, Principal of QNHS and Ma'am Asuncion Ilao, EPS conducted thorough monitoring of the In-house training.
Despite busy schedule, Division Sports Officer, Joan Alejaida R. Mauhay stayed connected, overseeing training operations from Sto. Tomas, Batangas for RAAM 2024 Advanced Games.
Quezon Dolphins partnered with Almer Tolentino, Sports Nutrition Specialist; Ronnie M. Agaton, reflexologist, and assigned Medical and DRRM team to ensure that the athletes’ health needs were met.
On its last evaluation session, DSO Mauhay expressed her gratitude to all the efforts exerted by the whole team. She asked for everyone’s feedback regarding the training and how the athletes performed. Lastly, she wished everyone well and bid everyone good luck for the most-anticipated RAAM 2024.
Behind the training was a core group who worked day and night, underscoring the collective effort invested in nurturing Quezonian athletes, ready to achieve one goal with one stand for RAAM 2024.
