Brgy. Talipan, Pagbilao, Quezon - As part of DepEd Quezon’s continued efforts to improve research management in the entire Division per DepEd Order No. 16, s. 2017; DO 39, s. 2016; and DO 13, s. 2015, the Schools Division Research Committee (SDRC), through the Planning and Research (PAR) Section, gathered all district coordinators to present the Division research agenda at the Division Training Center, July 25.
Participants were informed of the scope of said research agenda towards building engagement and accountability of research managers on the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of a localized policy on research management.
Dr. Oscar Duma Jr., Senior Education Program Specialist, discussed the composition of research committees at different levels of governance, including their roles and responsibilities; enumerated the Division research priorities consistent with priorities of higher offices; and described the workflow of research review and approval, and the new research templates.
Dr. Herbert Perez, Assistant Schools Division Superintendent, explained the important role of the organized committees, particularly in the schools and districts, in the quality assurance of all research submitted to the SDRC and in the promotion of research culture in SDO Quezon. He reiterated that personnel with inherent key result area on research should primarily be the ones to conduct studies that will improve work practices and/or significantly impact individual or office performance.
Elizabeth De Villa, SGOD Chief, also attended the activity, together with other members of the SDRC Secretariat and program management team: Dr. Regina Marino, Senior Education Program Specialist; Raul R. Agaran, Education Program Supervisor for SGOD; and Leah A. Perez, Project Development Officer I.
