CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – With a 9-peat record, CALABARZON retained its championship standing in the National Schools Press Conference (NSPC) 2023 held on July 17-21 with Quezon representatives sharing points for the region’s podium finish.
John Cedric Caña of Quezon National High School won third place in scriptwriting for TV Production and shared with the third place best TVB group in secondary Filipino category.
Ang Talipeño of Talipan National High School with school paper adviser Jerwin Tierra, Editor in chief Ronalyn Portes, and principal Luningning Mendoza reaped fourth best news page in the school paper category, Secondary Filipino.
This year’s NSPC season comes as a refresher after a two-year hiatus since NSPC 2020 in Tuguegarao City, Region II Cagayan Valley.
In a related event, Quezon’s representatives to the National Festival of Talents held at the same venue exhibited fine performances during the demonstration of talents in Sining Tanghalan such as Direk Ko, Ganap ko of Infanta National High School’s performing artists namely John Mark Eranista and Fanna Agub; Gumaca National High School’s Sineliksik artists Kayle Rayver Mergeno and Alfonze Viktor Pinawin; and Annika Iris Lacdao in Guhit Bulilit even.
