To set new directions for the Schools Division of Quezon and discuss relevant concerns relative to the implementation of various DepEd programs and projects, the third Division Management Committee Meeting was conducted at three strategic locations in the municipalities of Real, Tiaong, and Pagbilao, June 5-7.
Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Rommel C. Bautista, CESO V, led the activities with his vision towards the provision of basic quality education in the province. SDS Bautista introduced his mantra “Serbisyong Tapat at Sapat” which is embodied in the new-fangled strategy which skewers the objectives of the Department’s MATATAG Agenda, as well as the Basic Education Development Plan (BEDP) Pillars, under the leadership of Secretary and Vice President Sara Z. Duterte. He presented to the attending school heads and Public Schools District Supervisors of the four congressional districts his project dubbed as the “KALILAYAN Project” which has been derived from the old nomenclature of the province in 1591.
The acronym stands for the following: “K” Kumbinsihing pumasok ang mga mag-aaaral at maiwasan ang pagtigil hanggang sila ay makapagtapos”; “A” Angkopan ng nararapat at sapat na mga paaralan, pasilidad, at kagamitan ang mga komunidad”; “L” Likhain ang mga programang magtataguyod sa mga kabataang nasa kalagayang nangangailangan ng higit at agarang pagtugon; “I” Ibigay ang nararapat na serbisyong tumutugon sa pangangailangan ng mga mag-aaral at kawani nang walang pinipiling kasarian, kultura at paniniwala; “L” Linangin ang kaalaman, kasanayan at pagpapahalaga ng mga mag-aaral at kawani sa iba’t ibang larangang ayon sa kasalukuyang kurikulum; “A” Agapayan ang bawat paaralan sa pagbuo ng kontekstwal na kagamitang pampagtuturo at pag-aaral; “Y” Yakapin ang paggamit ng mga otentikong pagtatasa upang masukat ang nakamit na pagkatuto; “A” Alalayan ang mga mag-aaral at kawani para sa kanilang kaligtasan at kalusugan; and “N” Naising bigyan ng proteksyon ang mga mag-aaral at kawani laban sa anumang uri ng pang-aabuso at karahasan.
Upon approval of the provisional agenda, the meeting proceeded with the updates from different Division operating unit heads, including Accountant III Edmundo Marin Jr.; AO V Maria Dolores D. Atienza; IT Officer I Wilbert B. Porteza; AO V-HRMO Wennie O. Gaela; Atty. Rexcia B. Baldeo; SGOD Chief Elizabeth M. De Villa; and CID Chief Dr. Lorena S. Walangsumbat. Also present in the activity were Division Cashier Sheila E. Javen; Budget Officer III Catherine A. Pureza; EPS-QMR Dr. Juanito A. Merle; EPS-SGOD Raul R. Agaran; Planning Officer III Marbin Jeramil D. Fragata; Engr. Ramir O. Arbolente; Supply Officer George D. Aguila; SEPS-HRD Dr. Regina V. Marino; SEPS-PAR/DIO Dr. Oscar Duma Jr.; SEPS-SMN Paul Clifford N. Marquez; PDO II Arvin Repaso; and other Education Program Specialists and Supervisors.
Assistant Schools Division Superintendents Herbert D. Perez, Gregorio T. Mueco and Edward D. Garcia also presented important updates from their respective offices, highlighting the creation of Rural Farm Schools in the SDO, as well as recent developments in the Merit Selection Plan and vacant positions.
Meanwhile, the Top Management expressed its appreciation for the support of the local government in all endeavors of the Department. It was very much evident in the presence of the local chief executives during the management committee meeting, such as Hon. Diana Abigail D. Aquino of Real, Hon. Vincent Arjay M. Mea of Tiaong, and Hon. Angelica Portes-Tatlonghari of Pagbilao.
The said meeting was held from June 5 to 7 in Appleton Little Paradise Beach Resort & Restaurant, Real; Tiaong Convention Center, Tiaong; and Pagbilao National High School, Pagbilao, Quezon.
