The Education Program Supervisors (EPS) and Public Schools District Supervisors (PSDS) of DepEd Quezon designed IDEA-based lesson exemplars for Senior High School in response to the mandate of the Regional Office.
The said lesson exemplars embrace the IDEA scheme as part of PIVOT 4-A implementation. The exemplars focused on four components in the teaching procedure: Introduction, Development, Engagement, and Assimilation (IDEA).
In the Introduction, writers were instructed to deliver a walk-through of the lesson objectives, expectations and activation of the schema. Writers were also tasked to design engaging ways to have those parts delivered comprehensively.
Likewise, writers were also told to bridge the schema of the students to the new lesson to be introduced. This is the Development part where interactive activities were done by the writers to introduce the new lesson and inject concepts on such.
Meanwhile, writers were directed to design tasks that would draw connection of the lesson to students’ real-world and experiences. This is in the Engagement part where trans-disciplinary integration is employed.
Relatively, the written exemplars also put focal point on Assimilation where the learners would be tasked on what they could do more.
The IDEA exemplars went through content validation by the assigned editors and were returned to the writers for adjustments.
The lesson exemplars will be distributed to the field to serve as guide for teachers in crafting their own DLPs based on IDEA framework.
The lesson exemplars written by the supervisors shall serve as guide for teachers in crafting their own DLPs based on IDEA framework.
