IMUS CITY – Quezon Dolphin tennis champ Charles Dave Dimailig edged Antipolo ace Reyhan Fallaria on March 26 to win the Regional Athletic Association (RAAM) lawn tennis single B – boys’ secondary elimination round in Imus Tennis Club, 8 – 1.
Dimailig tightened his offensive attacks flooding his opponent with fiery drives coupled with strategic drop balls from left to right and from long drives to short drives that made Fallaria lose his stamina and failed to return the rally.
Quezon ace failed to deliver a love game as he became complacent in fifth set of the regulation. Dimailig paid dearly for his unforced errors, faulty services and overpowered hit, allowing Fallaria to win the fifth score set.
Dimailig regained the enthusiasm to clinch the remaining score set. He started gunning his rival with forehand and backhand spins resulting to winning the game. (EDILBERT L. CADELIÑA / Atimonan II District)
