Unit 2 dominates Palarong Quezon Secondary Gymnastics

 All eyes focused on the reigning champions as Jillian Sanchez and Mark John Orca of Tiaong (Unit 2) successfully defended their throne, 4 out of 4, in the secondary gymnastics event of Palarong Quezon 2023 held in Marcial Punzalan Sr. Plaza at Tiaong, Quezon.

Sanchez, 2020 Palarong Pambansa finalist-maintained gold in individual women of aero gymnastic, plus another gold from Orca acing the individual men's aerobic gymnastic. The duo also bagged golds in mixed pair and trio together with Jade Harlene.

The defending champs consistently posted clean gymnastic floor routines cresting the leaderboard in their individual competition, Sanchez with a masterpiece of 19.6 points and Orca earning 15.9. With Unit 2 receiving 4 golds and 3 silvers in the secondary gymnastics, this led the way for the gymnasts of the municipality of Tiaong to move forward into the regional competition under Quezon Dolphin’s banner.

"Pag nag-roroutine po hindi po galing sa mismong routine, galing po mismo sa puso." This was what Sanchez has to say as her edge in all events she competed in Palarong Quezon 2023. Prince Willard Cabajar of Gumaca, Nicole Loterte, Laurence Baracael and Renie Noche of Unit 1 from Pabilao were the other competitors.

Unit 1's Laurance Baracael stated that elements and new skills are something that they must work on their team as they lack on this aspect in which Unit 2 dominantly showcased through their jumps, pivots and lifts.

Pagbilao and Gumaca's bets came a little too far from the highest scorers of the leaderboard with a deficit ranging from 4 to 6 points away from Unit Two's excellency showed on the floor. Meanwhile, the winners from Unit 2 are set to compete this month on March 24 and 25 in Regionals Sports Competition.
