In an impeccable display of skill and teamwork, Unit II volleybelles claimed a decisive victory over District 4 in the Girls' Volleyball Semifinals during the Palarong Quezon at Quezon National High School's Gymnasium, 25-12, 25-12, Saturday.
Unit II got off to a strong start, taking an early lead in the first set with their aggressive attacking and impressive blocking that put District 4 into rampage of errors.
District 4 fought back hard, but Unit II’s teamwork and precision passing proved to be too much to handle.
Despite some impressive rallies and strong individual performances from both teams, Unit II continued to dominate throughout the match, building on their early lead and refusing to let District 4 gain any momentum, 11-1.
Led by Alvarez, the team’s key player, Unit II’s offense was firing on all cylinders, with several players like Afable and Nombre delivering powerful spikes and smart shots that kept District 4 on their toes.
Meanwhile, District 4 struggled to find their rhythm, with several unforced errors and miscommunications leading to lost points and missed opportunities.
Unit II's defense was equally impressive, with their players working together to block several of District 4's attacks and make some spectacular digs and saves.
Although District 4 made some valiant efforts to get back in the game, Unit II’s consistent play and disciplined approach proved to be too much to overcome.
Meanwhile, District 4's coach acknowledged that his team had some areas to improve upon but praised their resilience and determination. "We'll learn from this and come back stronger," he said.
