Following the soft opening of sub-offices and eventual inauguration beginning October 2021, SDO Quezon’s basic education services have significantly improved and subsequently lauded by a number of customers, including school heads, teachers and non-teaching personnel as reflected in the survey deployed by the Office.
The survey sought to gather feedback from customers about the quality of services offered in the sub-offices, and the attitude of personnel, as well as to find out their satisfaction on the standard turnaround time of processed documents, minimizing travel risks and travel time, and cost-effectiveness. Results show that an overall satisfaction rate of 94.73% was obtained, which implies a high-positive feedback from the primary beneficiaries of Project DeVOLVES (Deconcentration of Vital Operations for Leveraging Volumes of Education Services).
Project DeVOLVES decentralized quality management services from the main office (in Pagbilao) down to the sub-offices established in three strategic locations in the province: the first in Gumaca National High School (east), another in Real Central School (north), and the last one in Catanauan Central School (south). Likewise, it is in support of DepEd’s Last Mile Schools Program to address the challenges faced by schools located in geographically disadvantaged areas and isolated municipalities.
OIC-SDS Elias Alicaya Jr., proponent, said previously that this initiative was conceptualized as the Division’s response to the struggle of reaching out and delivering quality basic education services to its learners, as well as teaching and non-teaching personnel whose schools are situated in the mountain ranges, islands, or the farthest parts of Quezon. These results are meeting the objective of addressing the personnel and customers’ instructional and financial concerns, including official transactions with the Division Office, not to mention the estimated savings per annum.
It could be recalled that there were three separate formal inaugurations of the project, first in Gumaca sub-office on October 29, 2021; second in Real sub-office on April 1, 2022; and third in Catanauan sub-office on April 7, 2022. These inaugurations were participated by relevant stakeholders, and graced by high-ranking DepEd officials such as then-Undersecretary for Curriculum Dr. Diosdado San Antonio; Assistant Regional Director Cherrylou Repia; and SDSs/ASDSs in other Divisions, including Civil Service Commission (CSC) Director Jacinto C. Mateo III.
DepEd Quezon values the voice of its customers, and it will continue to improve its services for the betterment of organizational and learner outcomes.
