After a two-year hiatus, the Division Federation of Parents-Teachers Associations (DFPTA) finally took oath of office at Sevilla’s Farm and Resort, Domoit, Lucena City on June 13, 2022. OIC – Schools Division Superintendent Elias A. Alicaya, Jr. administered the oath of office among the elected DFPTA officers led by elected prexy Mr. Noel Pavon of Sariaya East district. In his message, SDS Alicaya expressed his gratitude to those presents recognizing their role on how schools realize different programs, projects and activities, with them as partners. “Parents and the associations are the primary partners of schools and the support and assistance they give to schools help towards fulfillment of the school’s goals beneficial to the learners”, the SDS added. The DFPTA under the wing of its newly inducted president, Mr. Pavon received support from 56 Federated PTA Presidents of the 56 School Districts and 39 Municipalities in DepEd Quezon. Meanwhile, Attorney Rexcia Maria B. Baldeo, DepEd Quezon’s Legal Officer oriented the DFPTA officers on the Department’s Order relative to the Omnibus Guidelines on the Regulations of the Operations of the Parents- Teachers Associations. Atty. Baldeo stressed the essential role of the PTA in school operations but emphasized that monetary contributions being collected by the association always come in voluntary basis and not mandatory. The School Heads in Charge of Governance and Operations (SHIGOs) serving as advisers of the federations in respective municipalities and districts also attended the event.
