To celebrate program successes and discuss lessons learned for further improvement, the SGOD -School Health Section held its 2021 year-end Program Implementation Review (PIR) at Sevilla’s Farm and Resort, Lucena City, December 13-15, 2021. Health personnel from the medical/nursing and dental services presented their accomplishments based on their specific key result areas (KRAs). Best practices and innovations were captured in the banner programs implemented in their respective district assignments. The flagship programs under the Department’s Oplan Kalusugan (OK) sa DepEd had been showcased in their accomplishments via Infographic Posters which were carefully judged by SEPS Gilbert Alva, and Creative Team members Mr. Kenneth Villamiel and Ms. Wins Marian dela Cruz. Wash in Schools (WinS) ranked first; Dental Health Program was second; and Safety & Health Protocol placed third. To ensure delivery of quality health care services in the Division, the Action Plans for FY 2022 were crafted and presented by Dr. Maria Antoinette Tesalona, Division Medical Officer; and Dr. Jose Macario Patino, Division Dentist in-charge. To recognize exemplary services of its personnel for the year 2021, certificates of recognition and appreciation were distributed. Also, the School-Based Feeding Program (SBFP) winner which ranked second in the national competition, Lalaguna I Elementary School of Lopez East District was awarded with a Plaque of Recognition from the Regional and Central Office; it was received by Principal Grace Salvatus, Ms. Cherry Escobar, and Nurse Aim Santander. All other awards to focal persons from the Education Support Services Division (ESSD) of DepEd Region IV-A CALABARZON including SBFP, WinS, ARH, COVID Task Force and Vaccination, were given. The activity was graced by OIC-SDS Dr. Elias Alicaya Jr. He delivered his inspiring message and encouragement, motivating the 83 participants to develop a clear vision and direction so as to provide quality health services in the New Normal.
