SMME specialists inspect private schools requesting for permit to operate

 To ensure compliance to quality standards of the Department of Education (DepEd), the School Governance and Operations Division – School Management Monitoring and Evaluation (SGOD-SMME), in collaboration with Dr. Joan Alejaida Mauhay, Education Program Supervisor in-charge of Private Schools, commenced the conduct of onsite inspection in private schools requesting permit to operate for SY 2021-2022 on November 29, 2021. Oscar Duma Jr., Senior Education Program Specialist for SMME, led the onsite inspection to validate documents and confirm the requesting private schools’ adherence to standards set by the Department in terms of learner-room ratio, laboratories, comfort rooms, facilities, internet connectivity, library, lighting and ventilation, entrance and exit, to name a few. Dr. Maria Bernadit Tupas, Education Program Specialist II, together with Cynthia Marquez, Public Schools District Supervisor, aided in the inspection of Holy Spirit Learning Center of Sariaya Inc., and of St. Francis High School Inc.
