Seven select schools in DepED Quezon undertook PIVOT Learning Assurance for Monitoring and Progress (LAMP) in April 26-30 as per Regional Memorandum No. 113 s. 2021, RM 131, s. 2021, and RM 134, s. 2021.
The said schools included Paaralang Elementarya ng Lucban and Paaralang Sekundarya ng Lucban in Lucban District; Mauban South Central Elementary School, Mauban North Elementary School, Dr. Maria Pastrana National High School, Cagbalete Island Elementary School, and Cagbalete Island National High School, Mauban North and South districts, respectively.
Mr. Job S. Zafe Jr., Chief of CALABARZON’s Curriculum and Learning Management Division (CMLD) led the LAMP team in cascading the region’s effort in utilizing distance learning assessment geared toward achieving aligned, focused interventions, and advanced handholding initiatives, based on actual data being gathered from the field.
The CMLD asserted that the goal of PIVOT Assessment in Distance learning is to assess teaching and learning processes and identify the necessary gaps in terms of curriculum and instruction, learning delivery and learning resources management.
Relatively, the monitoring focused on gathering information regarding academic progress and achievement of learners in distance learning during Quarters 1 and 2; identifying strong points and areas of improvement of the various elements and components of teaching and learning process in the context of distance learning; and identifying needs of teachers and school administrators to design and develop enrichment, intervention, remediation plan for learners.
PIVOT assessment is a pen-and-paper test given to Grade 6, 10, and 12 learners of the identified schools in DepED Quezon. The learning areas covered by the test were English, Mathematics, Araling Panlipunan, Filipino, Science, and Edukasyon sa Pagpapakatao for elementary and Junior High School learners, while the coverage of Senior High School test included Oral Communication in Context, Statistics and Probability, Understanding Society, Culture and Politics, Komunikasyon at Pananaliksik sa Wika at Kulturang Pilipino, Earth and Life Science, and Introduction to Philosophy and the Human Person.
Dr. Lorena S Walangsumbat, CID Chief of DepED Quezon, and Raul Agaran, Education Program Supervisor in-charge of Testing joined the regional team in the conduct of the assessment.
