"No amount of hard work remains unrecompensed"
Behind all tears of joy and congratulatory remarks of family, friends and co-employees, the 173 passers of the 2022 National Qualifying Examination for School Heads (NQESH) have varying personal stories which led them into the cornucopia of success they are now reaping, and which are only known by themselves and God who appeared to be their single source of hope and spiritual strength along their journey.
To record, there were 108 passers in the elementary level, distributed among the four congressional districts (CD) consecutively: 17, 21, 30 and 40; as well as 65 passers in the secondary level (JHS): 8, 17, 19 and 21. Moreover, 25 of them came from the first CD; 38 from the second CD; 49 from the third CD; and 61 from the fourth CD.
Perhaps, the “pushing” factor, besides determination and good faith, is attributed to the review sessions these once “hopefuls” have participated in. This was implemented under Project PUSH [Professional Upliftment for School Heads], an initiative led by ASDS Herbert Perez that aimed to prepare test-takers for the NQESH and ensure high passing rates.
The coveted laurels were eventually gained through rigorous trainings facilitated by SDO Quezon’s cream of the crop full-fledged principals and Public Schools District Supervisors (PSDSs).
Key topics included the principles and strategies in constructing tests and a walkthrough of the Philippine Professional Standards for School Heads (PPSSH), highlighting the following: a) Cluster Domain 1 which includes School Leadership, and Personal and Professional Attributes and Interpersonal Effectiveness; b) Cluster Domain 2 which covers Instructional Leadership, and Creating Student-Centered Learning Climate; and c) Cluster Domain 3 which comprises Human Resource Management and Professional Development, Parent Involvement and Community Partnership, and School Management and Operations.
The prophecy was fulfilled upon the release of DepEd Memorandum No. 100, s. 2022 or the Results of the Fiscal Year 2021 National Qualifying Examination for School Heads.
The unwavering support of the Top Management through the leadership of OIC-SDS Elias Alicaya Jr. was instrumental to the awe-inspiring accomplishment of the 173 NQESH passers in the Division who are now facing a brand-new door of opportunity for growth and professional development.
Kudos! These brilliant passers deserve a hot coffee or tea!
