SDO Quezon prepares for novel scheme; intensifies work from home
The Schools Division Office (SDO) of Quezon left no stone unturned in preparing for an alternative system of education as the school year opens tentatively by August, while currently strengthening ‘work from home’ to continue delivering its services.
Schools Division Superintendent Catherine P. Talavera, CESO V, urged all Education Program Supervisors (EPSs), Public Schools District Supervisors (PSDSs), and School heads (SHs) to participate in online webinars to establish familiarity with the ‘new normal’ system that the Department of Education (DepEd) will be implementing this coming school year.
In response, all EPSs, PSDSs and at least a hundred of school heads and teachers from DepEd Quezon participated in a watch party vis-à-vis webinar organized by the #Bounce back PH education group on April 30. About 10,000 participants registered and joined the webinar.
Dr. Nato Agbayani, founder of #bounce back PH education served as the forum moderator while USEC Alain Pascua, Edric Mendoza, Chairman of Global Learning Philippines, Rosanna Llenado, Chairperson of AHEAD Learning Systems, Ailen Apollo –De Jesus, Head of education for Southeast Asia and Google Classroom, Gelix Marcader, co-founder of practical learning and Yuki Naotori, of Quipper school were the resource persons.
Aside from webinars on ‘new normal,’ the SDS also mandated all EPSs to craft modules for each of the learning area both elementary and secondary to be used for the first quarter of the coming school year. Tis is in response to the blended learning (online and offline modes) which is a part of the new normal learning modalities.
This activity is supported by the Assistant Schools Division Superintendents Dr. Gerlie Ilagan, Mr. Buddy Chester Repia and Mr. Herbert Perez who are all czars of innovation.
Meanwhile, the Superintendent also urged all personnel to strictly observe work from home for continues delivery of services especially on teachers’ benefits, accomplishing DepEd forms, reports, proposals and related stuff.
As of the moment, all teachers from DepEd Quezon already received their refund from monthly loan amortizations which were credited to their ATM on the second week of April and the Performance-Based Bonus (PBB) credited to ATMs on the third week of April.
