Dr. Andrea Maybel E. Abrencillo, Chief Education Program Supervisor II Regional Field Technical Assistance Division (RFTAD), together with Mr. Oscar Duma Jr., Senior Education Program Specialist – DepEd Quezon School Monitoring & Evaluation Chief, Mrs. Elizabeth M. De Villa – Chief Education Supervisor – School Governance and Operation Division (SGOD) Chief, Mr. Arvin P. Repaso, DepEd Quezon Project Development Officer II, Mrs. Meilani L. Adan, Lopez West District (LWD) Public Schools District Supervisor (PSDS) attended the first Flag Raising Ceremony at Hondagua National High School (HNHS) and monitored the opening of classes in Zone 5 of LWD for school year 2022-2023, Aug. 22.
Mr. Eric A. Molines, Principal I of HNHS, gave his opening remarks, and welcomed the guests, students, parents, and other stakeholders; he also extended his gratitude to the DepEd officials from the District, Division, and Region for gracing the first flag raising ceremony for the school year.
Despite the difficulties caused by the pandemic, Mrs. Adan, Lopez West District PSDS, expressed appreciation for the learners’ and teachers’ attendance on the first day of class and informed them that everyone was looking forward to having them.
While Mrs. De Villa, EPS, SGOD Chief spoke on behalf of Dr. Elias A. Alicaya Jr., OIC-Schools Division Superintendent, and informed the students that they would be giving an inspirational message, but they are the ones who were inspired by the very organized preparation by HNHS personnel and students.
Moreover, Dr. Abrencillo, EPS II – RFTAD, delivered the message of DepEd – Region IV-A CALABARZON, Regional Director, Atty. Alberto T. Escobarte, CESO II, encouraged the learners and everyone to always observe the health and safety protocols and also welcomed the students after two years of modular and online learning and encouraged them to always remember "BIDA KID," which stands for "B–estfriend Natin ay Face Mask, I-ngatan, D-umistansya, A–irflow ay panatilihin.'
"We have to be thankful because we are blessed with this roof (covered court), where we are gathered today. We are also blessed with good health, body, and mind, especially the learners, for we are now having face-to-face classes." Abrencillo added.
She expressed her love towards the students and assured them that even if they aren’t there, they will find ways to feel their presence, and that’s the message of the regional director, which is to bring its regional office to the other offices in CALABARZON.
She also encouraged the students to be safe at all times and be honest about their health conditions and urged the teachers to make a connection with them, which must come from their hearts, not from their minds.
Dr. Abrencillo held a post-conference with Mr. Molines and she asked about any problem he encountered involving the learners, teachers, parents, and even the school heads and other stakeholders.
Mr. Molines assured Dr. Abrencillo that all the problems were given interventions and solutions.
The monitoring team also visited and monitored various schools from the District which include Lourdes Elementary School, Don Mariano Barrameda Elementary School, Guites Elementary School, Guites National High School, Hondagua Elementary School, Matinik Elementary School, and Conception Elementary School.
