DepEd Division of Quezon through Mr. Wilbert Porteza Division ITO together with QADICT Officers as the TWG, planned and organized two batches of 3-day training workshop for District ICT Coordinators to primarily prepare computer laboratories for the face-to- face classes.
The training was conducted on August 9-11 (Batch 1) and August 15-17 (Batch 2) at Nawawalang Paraiso Resort and Hotel, Brgy. Camaysa, Tayabas, Quezon with a total of 56 attendees by batch coming from 1st to 4th Congressional Districts in which health and safety protocols during the training workshop were strictly complied.
This activity was in accordance with the Division Memorandum No. 630, s. 2022 which is the ICT Training Workshop on DCP Basic Troubleshooting, Maintenance and Networking including PC and laptop.
During the opening program, ITO Porteza explained the rationale and other matters including several issues and concerns regarding teachers email addresses, DCP deliveries, ICT Monitoring and Office 365 accounts were given duly advice and actions.
Ms. Czariza Mariel M. Ayala (Batch 1)- District ICT Coordinator from Padre Burgos Quezon and Mr. Renato Agoba (Batch 2)- District ICT Coordinator from Dolores Quezon served as the program facilitators/ hosts.
SDS Elias A. Alicaya Jr. graced the event and delivered his Inspirational message while ASDS Gregorio A. Co Jr. presented his opening remarks through an AVP.
In the sessions on day 1, Mr. Jayson Antig, IT Officer of Cavite City shared ideas on Basic PC and Laptop Maintenance and troubleshooting emphasizing the right specs of the laptop and PC to guide the ICT Coordinators on the appropriate item/s to assemble for the PC and laptop to work properly.
Mr. Antig also demonstrated on how to Disassembly and Assembly the PC during the sessions held on day 2 which the participants were also given hands-on activity. Together with Mr. Porteza, Antig assessed the participants one by one as they assemble and disassemble a CPU. This activity was a pre-requisite to power on a PC. It also enabled the ICT Coordinators to review and apply the knowledge and skill acquired on the 1st and 2nd day.
Meanwhile, Mr. Darryl Chester Hidalgo, IT Specialist from Toolbox Tech-Solution Company served as the resource speaker on the third day. He shared his expertise on the topic about DCP Basic N Computing Repair and Maintenance, Set-up, and Troubleshooting.
Hidalgo said that as an IT Specialist most of the problems he encountered in the field while repairing DCP was about setting up and maintenance of the N-Computing. According to him if only ICT Coordinators were knowledgeable on the basic troubleshooting, schools and districts need not to spend or allocate funds for basic repair.
In the same event, Mr. Herbert Asnan, Service Partner Coordinator of Toolbox Tech-Solutions Company concluded the session with the topic DCP Basic N Computing Networking, Installation and Configuration. Participants used the tools and devices they brought to utilize and setup an N computing set. The following are the tools and devices necessary to perform and apply various task during the session: 5 meters UTP Cable Cat5; 10-20pcs. RJ5; LAN Tester; Crimping tool and Heavy-duty Screwdriver.
“The 3-day training workshop was very engaging. The activities set for the participants enable them to review the effectiveness of their practices, learn techniques on how to trouble shoot and apply the proper way of maintaining DCP deployed in the School,” ITO Porteza said.
