A good effort deserves a good reward. This popular statement holds true to Salvacion Elementary School, Agdangan District after emerging as national champion Best Brigada Eskwela implementer under Small School category. Assistant Schools Division Superintendent Gregorio A. Co Jr, Senior Education Program Specialist in charge of Social Mobilization Paul Clifford Marquez, and SES principal Ms. Ginalyn G. Esguerra received the award during the awarding ceremony held at IloIlo Convention Center, IloIlo City on June 20, 2022. Ms. Esguerra along with Brigada Eskwela coordinator Monico Oriel under the supervision of Public Schools District Supervisor Marilyn Permejo led the entire school – community in showcasing a heightened spirit of volunteerism and collaboration making the school a standout in the national level competition. Aside from being the champion, the school was also recognized as one of the entries that underlined a level-up strategy with the best school and community partnerships. This year’s Brigada edition focused on the implementation of the reading program and how the schools responded and addressed various reading and comprehension - related gaps among learners due to the challenges of the pandemic. Salvacion Elem School’s best brigada pagbasa practice included a reading pantry. The entries were subjected to thorough validation in the division, regional, and national levels to determine the winners. It took a two-year break before the search for Brigada Eskwela best implementing schools returned to recognize schools with exemplary effort channeled to the brigada program’s implementation.
