Relevant to SDO Quezon’s Project Nurturing Organization Every School (NO ESC), a CI that supports the Division’s advocacy on continuous improvement of school processes in terms of quality, access and governance, Padre Burgos District holds District Training on Evolutionary Culture of Progression in Continuous Improvement at Padre Burgos Central School, Padre Burgos, Quezon, March 29-31. With the primary goal of enabling the participants to articulate their basic understanding of CI and its application at school level, Ma’am Flora P. Mayol, Principal-in-Charge of CIP and Ma’am Margarette T. Elma, District CIP Coordinator, with the approval of Ma’am Reyvi C. Faraon, Public Schools District Supervisor, invited and tied up with the 3rd Congressional District CI Master Coach, Ma’am Maria Carla Caraan, PSDS of Mulanay II as Resource Speaker. Together with PSDS Caraan is Mulanay District II CI Coach, Sir Richard M. Calma, School Head-in-Charge of CIP, Sir Victor A. Ilagan, Mulanay District II CI Coordinator, Leonardo F. Zulueta, and Sir Kim John R. Pontud, Mulanay District II CI Coaches, served as facilitators. Day 1 focused on CI’s Stage 1: Assess and its steps including Get Organized, Talk with the Customer and Walk the Process, which was continued on Day 2 with Stage 1 Step 4 - Focused Problem Statement. It was followed by the discussion of CI Stage 2: Analyze with its underlying Step- Do Root Cause Analysis; and Stage 3: Act. Before concluding her discussion, PSDS Caraan encouraged the teacher-participants to continue on understanding the process to be able to utilize it in their respective schools. The training was attended by all Elementary and Secondary School Heads, School CI Focal Persons, and respective school CI Team Members, with a total of 96 participants. The teacher-participants participated on tasks during Workshops and Presentation of Outputs. Participants with exemplary performance were recognized. Hinguiwin Elementary School was tagged as Most Active Group, Danlagan Elementary School as Best Stage 1 Output, Padre Burgos Central School as Best Project Background, Danlagan National High School as Best Presenter, Kinagunan Elementary School as School with Most Complete Output, and Polo Integrated School as Pretest Top scorer. Moreover, Ma’am Claudette Darvin was named as Most Active Participant. At the end of the training, participating schools with Best Workshop Outputs were awarded; 4th placer was Lina Gayeta Lasquety National High School, Sipa Elementary School as 3rd placer, Kinagunan ES as 2nd placer and Danlagan Elementary School as 1st placer. On the other hand, Lina Gayeta Lasquety National High School topped the Post Test. Aside from the resource speaker and facilitators, persons behind the scene including members of the Technical Working Group were duly recognized. PSDS Faraon brought up a challenge of envisioning successful CI projects, not just by visualizing success at the end, but rather visualizing the whole process.
