DepEd Quezon through the initiative of the SGOD- School Health Section conducted an orientation for the newly designated School-Based Feeding Program (SBFP) coordinators at Sevilla’s Farm and Resort, Lucena City, March 24-25. The activity was participated by select district nurses per congressional district who will be in-charge of the Nutritious Food Products and Milk Component of the SBFP. It aimed to provide information and technical assistance to all new members of the SBFP Technical Working Group responsible as TA providers in the implementation of the program. Also, the orientation served as an avenue to have a common understanding on the different issuances, guidelines and policies, discuss issues and concerns encountered from the previous implementation, and find ways and solutions for better implementation. This fiscal year, the implementation of the SBFP shall commence from April-June 2022 using the FY 2022 budget allocation from the General Appropriations Act (GAA). With the Special Allotment Release Order (SARO) released to the SDO, DepEd Quezon identified the beneficiaries following DepEd Order No. 010, s. 2022 and other preliminary program forms requisite before the start of feeding. With the new composition of the SBFP Team from 1st to 4th districts, Nurse Maria Nerissa A. Diego discussed the detailed process flow in the SBFP implementation and all the legal bases from SY 2014-2015 up to SY 2021-2022. The mechanics and guidelines relevant to allowable operational expenses downloaded to each school recipient were also tackled. To monitor the progress report and status of implementation per school implementer, Nurse Jackielyn Mae N. Ebora, Division SBFP Alternate Focal Person for MFC discussed the different program forms using the innovated Google Form for SBFP reporting. Each item was explained in detail as to its completeness and what to encode. With the issued supplemental guidelines on DepEd Order No. 31, s. 2021, Nurse Nessan Ingrid L. Rapada, Division SBFP Alternate Focal Person for NFP discussed the updates and revisions on the technical specifications of food commodities and the scope and coverage of learners to be included in the feeding program. Other activities were also discussed relevant to the program implementation. The highlights of the SBFP implementation in accordance with DO 31, s. 2021 were reiterated by the Division SBFP Focal Person NIC Ma. Teresita M. Abella to guide the new members of the team for a common understanding. Action plan for the SBFP FY 2022, Cash Program, Work and Financial Plan, PPMP, APP, were also presented for transparency, information and reference. The monitoring schedule and TA were also planned for onsite visitation during the implementation of both Nutritious Food Products and Milk Feeding Component. The activity, which is in support to the expanded limited F2F classes in the Division, was graced by OIC-SDS Elias A. Alicaya Jr. and the ASDSs.
