To officially acquaint SDO Quezon with the major projects of the School Governance and Operations Division (SGOD), the School Management Monitoring and Evaluation (SMME) Section in coordination with the Division Information Officer (DIO) and the Press Release and Field Correspondents (PREFIC) Team, conducted the SGOD-SMME Project Launch via Zoom, March 14. SEPS Oscar Duma Jr., DIO, discussed about the SMME’s “Project APPRAISE”, which is aligned with the monitoring and evaluation of DepEd programs, activities and projects, as well as government communications. Under the said project, SEPS Duma introduced the 2022 ALITAPTAP Awards (patterned after DepEd's Information Leaders Award [ILAw]) and PAPs Festival, which aim to engage school/district information coordinators (SICs/DICs), School Heads In-charge of Governance and Operations (SHIGO), Public Schools District Supervisors (PSDSs), school heads, teachers, and stakeholders to support, participate, and contribute to the accomplishment of Division PAPs and sharing of best practices in districts, schools and learning centers. Duma also revealed the official logos of the SGOD and the SMME with their representations. AO V and Head of the Public Affairs Unit (PAU), Mr. Ariel Azuelo, DepEd CALABARZON Regional Information Officer (RIO), delivered his inspirational address to the participants, including the SHIGOs and SICs/DICs. RIO Azuelo highlighted the important roles of the SICs/DICs in communicating relevant information regarding the Department’s effort and initiatives, particularly on quality education amidst the pandemic. Azuelo also reiterated the maximization of the school DepEd Tayo Facebook pages in updating and assisting the public. SGOD Chief Elizabeth M. De Villa explained the rationale behind “Project DUYOG” anchored on the office key result areas, which was supplemented by audio-visual presentations on conducted M&E and way forward of the SMME. Meanwhile, EPS II Maria Bernadit Tupas introduced the Division focal persons of sub-projects under Project DUYOG. Edmond Malihan, PREFIC president and Teacher II of Guinayangan ES, presented the pioneering members of PREFIC, a pool of writers, editors and creative talents, which is the Division’s arm in disseminating online press releases and other DepEd advocacies through the Division Information function. The PREFIC Team assisted in the preparations for the virtual launch. The Top Management was also present to express their message of support to the initiatives of the SGOD and the SMME towards providing support to the Curriculum Implementation Division (CID). Awarding of certificates to pioneering members, article contributors, and participants was also done. SGOD-EPS Raul Agaran delivered the closing remarks afterwards. The virtual program ended with the community singing of “Together We are One” by Delta Goodrem, with Mrs. Sarah Mendoza, PREFIC Vice President, rendering the sign language interpretation.
