Relative to the adoption of DepEd Order No. 30, s. 2019 titled The Department of Education Manual of Style (DMOS) and DO 31, s. 2019 or The Department of Education Service Marks and Visual Identity Manual (DSMVIM) and strict adherence to these guidelines, the Schools Division of Quezon Province through the School Governance and Operations Division – School Management Monitoring and Evaluation (SGOD-SMME) held a two-day webinar via Zoom to reiterate their application in schools and field offices, November 10-11. Said Orders prescribe the latest language style, format and usage based on the Chicago Manual of Style (17th Edition), and DepEd House style, as well as highlights the significance of institutionalizing a common format in the Department, such as the use of DepEd logo and seal in all communications, presentations, learning resources, advocacy materials, citations and other collaterals. This ensures a culture of excellence in the delivery of services and governance of basic education by integrating a common usage in language styling, writing and formatting of DepEd issuances and other official documents towards attaining a unified DepEd identity. Oscar R. Duma Jr., Senior Education Program Specialist, discussed the DMOS, while Dr. Bernadit M. Tupas, Education Program Specialist II, delivered a lecture on the DSMVIM. In two batches, this activity was participated by Public Schools District Supervisors, School Heads, and District Information Officers in-charge of writing press releases. Oscar R.
